Introducing Shaun

Please meet Shaun McSherry, the newest member of the MSP Technologies team. Shaun is an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer, having worked on a variety of embedded software engineering and system modelling projects across different industries. With his diverse skill set, Shaun is well-equipped to take on his role at MSP, where he will be developing systems to optimise the control of our inverters.

Shaun's previous work experience includes writing software for artillery systems in the defence industry, which required him to design and develop embedded systems with rigorous reliability and safety requirements. He has also worked on solar charging projects and battery management systems, where he developed embedded software that was critical to the successful operation of these systems. These experiences have given him a deep understanding of the importance of developing software that meets the highest standards of reliability and safety.

Shaun has achieved ONC and HNC qualifications in electrical and electronical engineering, which he gained as part of his apprenticeship at Marconi in Leicester. He also holds a BSc from the Open University, which he earned in 2000. This combination of academic knowledge and practical experience has made Shaun an asset to MSP Technologies.

Shaun is excited to be starting work on our new control systems, and is eager to apply his skills and experience to create a product that meets the needs of MSP's customers. He is particularly passionate about exploring how a single product can serve different needs, such as renewable systems, power harvesting, off-grid supply, and grid backup. He believes that the key to success in this area is to have a deep understanding of the needs of each customer, and to be able to tailor the product to meet those needs.

In addition to his work at MSP, Shaun is also involved in several mental health charities, including Mind and Samaritans. He serves as a counsellor at Mind, providing support to individuals who are struggling with mental health issues, and as a listener at Samaritans, providing emotional support to people in distress. Shaun also runs his own private practice as a clinical hypnotherapist, which he finds to be a rewarding and fulfilling way to help people improve their mental health and well-being.

Shaun lives with his wife and two sons in Grange Over Sands. He loves spending time outdoors with his wife and two dogs, and tides permitting, trying to catch fish.
