Multi Source Power Technologies was founded in 2013 by Simon Patterson. Following years of experience in the design of hybrid and electric marine drive trains, Simon spotted the opportunity to transfer these technologies on shore in the growing energy storage market whilst maintaining the compact and durable design characteristics necessary for the marine environment.

In 2016 the company moved to larger premises in Holme, Cumbria which comprise lab development areas and office space as well as manufacturing floor space. MSP’s facilities are home to a growing team of hardware and software talent alongside business development and project management resource.

MSP has deployed its solutions in the UK, Europe and in Africa where stable power is scarce, presenting stark obstacles for citizens, businesses and investors seeking to sponsor projects or developments. The company targets these large markets to enable the onward growth and development that MSPs products can facilitate.

MSP sees the Cleantech revolution as a win-win phenomenon. The world faces immense challenges in responding to climate change and fulfilling the bold commitments it has set itself internationally and in the UK with the Paris Agreement and the Net Zero by 2050 pledges respectively. Ambitious though they are, they also present massive economic potential for emergent technologies all over the world.

MSP designs its products specifically to respond to variable needs through common principles in “smart” solutions that still outcompete alternatives at system level pricing. Rapid deployment, high efficiency, durability, low maintenance: these principles guide our team in every solution we create.
